Hasn't the Wasabi v2 already been released? While D2pro's D2E Compatible chips won't ship until next week. Doesn't that mean Wasabi wins the D2E race?

Slightly confused here. Can someone clarify?
No no, The wasabi 2 can use D2E with new FW, this FW isn't out yet. Neither chips have put out a solution yet.

this is great news for people that have a bunch off d2pro v1 that they cant use, now they can update d2pro9 v1 to d2pro9 v2 that will also work with d2e. The battle continues, the only reson i say wasabi sucks is the lack of support and they realeased a new chip without fixing the old one, atleast d2pro updated there old chips and are still doing so now. you can use the old d2ckey and make it into a d2pr9 but you cant do that with a wasabi. although i can understand that the first wasabi chip was the first f its kind so it was we knew there would be bugs but still.

the thing is.
D2Pro delivers, and they deliver it in one shot.
Other teams may deliver, (infectus) but not the first time around.
Wasabi, is the monkey in the middle.

I dont think D2Pro will release a D2Pro9v1 to D2Pro9v2 upgrade, their response it can be readed as D2Pro9v2 (d2c2) jtag update but for making it compatible with d2e (just the d2pro9v2 will be updated). The actel signature should have been changed between d2pro9v1 and d2pro9v2 so they cutted the d2ckey conversion too.

possibly, would add to their capitalist routine seen thus far preventing legit D2Pro owners from taking advantage of a D2E firmware.

Still D2CKeyPro9 is awesome adaptation that can save a few bucks. Whats out now is out, and will always work with wiis its compatible with. The team can't change that.

Other than resellers, I don't see the point in wanting to upgrade my D2pro9 V1 firmware to anything else if it works flawlessly as it is..

The only time I will care is when games stop working with the chip or nintendo pushes down a dreaded doomsday upgrade and it needs some kind of update.. So far the D2pro/Wiikey team has delivered on these occasions.. which the wasabi team has yet to be tested on..

I think you can count on wasabi delivering an update if there is some issue with a game being blocked.

the update program is already created....its just the firmware file that needs to be plugged in each time.

Well, lets take things step by step.. first they need to make a chip thats stable and functional... then lets worry about how they implement firmware updates from DVD.
