Evidently the new D2C drives drive spindle area looks different. Go HERE to see the difference.

Does that include Infectus/Argon or is that just the products that the D2CKey team make?

I think he is saying not to expect an update that will make the new D2C drives compatible with the Modchips that are available now. There will be updates still released for these products but none that will make the Modchip compatible with the newer D2C drives.

This conflicts with information that the Infectus team gave. Which stated due to the Jtag programmer the Modchip is future proof. Meaning if Nintendo re-disgned the DVD drive the Modchip firmware could be re-designed from bottom up making it compatible with the newer drives units.

I guess time will tell.

Infectus team's claim may hold up with regards to the infectus modchip, as opposed to the Argon.

Here's to hoping that in the coming weeks we will get information about the differences between the D2C drives that necessitate a modchip redesign.

I also wonder if this is the return of higher wire counts.
