Updating the wii, homebrew and downloading legit n64 games

Hey, i dont know anything about wii hacking or whatever but my wii has the homebrew channel and it uses the twilight hack to use it (i think so anyway, i dont use homebrew my bros do). Anyway recently i felt like downloading zelda majoras mask and then they told me that the new wii update would render the homebrew channel useless.

Does that mean i cant download anything for the wii without updating? Or is there a way to download n64 games for the wii without wrecking the homebrew stuff.

Cause the fact that I cant do many of the stuff that a wii's supposed to do pisses me off, especially since my bros dont even use homebrew... Heck if i had my way id just delete the whole f***ing thing. Heck THEY dont even use homebrew... tightarses.

In short i want to be able to download n64 games without destroying homebrew. After reading some other posts about this trucha thing, just in case FYI i dont use it.
