Question Ripping Wii Games

Anyone have info on where I can get a program, or any detailed info on how to do this? I know I need an ISO file, but any regular program I have tried doesn't recognize the Wii disc in the CD-ROM drive..

Have a read before posting, this has been covered many times. Your problem is 99% certain to be that you are not using a suitable (LG) drive.

imgburn verifies the disc for you by default...if you don't want the disc verified...you have to uncheck the box that says verify disc.

You can always use the wii to rip games without the need of those special LG drives. Look for the SDdvd by Softdev, pretty much it rips the game and saves it into your SD Card if your using SD Gecko (Gamecube SD Card reader). You can always solder a few wires to use your Front SD card slot as well.

This would seems to be a good option, what size SD card is required, most are 4Gb max but Wii games are 4.3Gb?

When ripping a game via SD card, it will split into mulitple files. For example, I'm using a 2gb card, once it reaches 2gb on my SD card, the ripping will stop and i'll copy the file to my computer and continue the process. Normally i'll get about three parts which will be called SDBACKUP.001, SDBACKUP.002, and etc. Once you finish ripping the game, just combine the files through ms prompt and you'll get your .iso.

I'm not sure what SD card size can read off the wii but i'm pretty sure it can support 4gb SD card. Obviously the bigger the card, less parts there would be.

wii can't read cards over 2gb, unless you use a non-stanard 4gb card and you're luck that it happens to work. BUT the SD dump apps require a format that can't have partitions larger than 2gb i think

There is also a way to download the image from your wii to your computer using WiiHTTP Dumper however you do have to install a custom IOS.
