Default New D2C drive

Just wanna let everyone know that i ran into a new D2C drive today. It looks totally different from d2c or d2c-2 drive. It still say d2c and some digits on the chip, but resistors and some ic are lay out different. The good new is D2prov2 works.

Sorry for the bad english.

Default I got pics from WWW.BOXXDR.COM

First take a look at the Via's around point F. Point F is in the exact same spot however when i first seen the via's had moved around i was a bit worried so i double checked with my multimeter to make sure it would work.

Not much has changed on the bottom. Its looks so similar that no-one should have any issues. You can see in this picture that my solder for point F on the top flowed right Thur to the other side of the Via. (Nice!)

Also this is the first time i have seen a shielded data cable running between the DVD drive and mother board. Maybe Nintendo was worried our mod-chips might pick up interference and wanted to make sure they would get cleaner signals to hack.

D2Pro v2 worked perfect!

Thats funny ... I ran into the same one last night as well.

I looked at the layout and noticed a bunch of things different so I took a few pictures to post in case it wouldn't work with the D2Pro9. Installed a D2Pro9 and surprised to see it worked fine.

Default Nintendo cutting costs

Probably Nintendo using another contract manufacturer to cut down costs on the pcb's.
