GOt me a D2pro9 here, with a solid red light.
It worked for a short period with the D2pro, then stopped working.
Now the drive makes a constant stuttering noise.
When I remove the chip and leave the wires hangin, the drive works.
Can it be this is a drive with a D2C2 chip???
I have a D2Pro9 that is certified D2C2. Can I try this one?
The serial of the Wii is LEH16473....

If it worked at one point then it's not a D2C2 chip, try reflashing the firmware first if you're sure your install is good.
The firmware was reflashed. After that it worked. And shortly the drive stopped working.
The only thing I can think of is some bulb of solder is causing this. But I can't see anything.
I also tried another chip, same problem.
Will try a wasabi and see what it does. Just to be sure.

Well, I finally got it working. It seems there was some solder between point E and the leg to the right. After using the scalpel and blowing it works like a charm!
I found the solder by checking the legs of the D2C chip with a multimeter. Used the Ohm setting NOT the bleep.
