Default Unmoddable Wiis? D2C

I dont know if any other installers have noticed this yet but we have come accross 2 boards so far from brand new wiis that wont take any modchip. The board controller chip just says GC2-D2C and has no nother printing on the chip like regular d2c boards we have seen. We thought this was just a problem with the one board we saw but later this happend with another one. Done hundreds of installs so its definately not a install issue. If the power and ground is removed the board works perfectly. If the chip is installed the drive will take the disc in and eject but spins up to full speed and then stops. We have tried wasabi, d2pro, argon and even d2ckey and all have same result.

If other installers or users have had this issue please share! Thanks

UPDATE:

Due to several people being confused by 40+ pages of responses on this thread here is the breif summary.

There are SOME wiis out there with serial numbers LU566 and LU341 and above that are unmoddable. The only way to tell if your brand new wiis are unmoddable is to actually put a modchip on. There is no need to try every single modchip out there for d2cs as they all have the same result. Posting your serial number and asking installers if thier wii is umoddable will give you NOTHING. If you have a new wii just wait for the new d2pro9 firmware to be released or the new batch of d2pros. This chip is being shipped to distributors for testing purposes. Once complete they will be mass produced and a firmware update shold follow shortly.

There's a similar report on maxconsole.
Looks like something is up.

I can confirm, the d2pro 15 wire works on it. Try it. Other chips I did not try but for sure the 15 wire works as i've gotten around 5 already.

This makes me nervous.

I purchased a Wii from Toys R Us online on the 23rd. It is scheduled to be delivered tommorow. I am having a chip installed on it on saturday. I will open it up though tommorow and check the D2C chip and see if it has more printing on it then just the D2C stuff like the orginal poster talked about. I will be sad if i have an un moddable wii.

I just did 3 of them with the Argon 1.8 with SPI flash and they all work fine .

Only GC2-D2C is written on the chip. I would say that maybe you have a bad install or ??? serial are all LU56...

i doubt its a bad install, they are pro modders ,the chances of them getting a bad install with 4 different chips is "zero" . as he has stated he has done hundreds of installs ,so your theory has gone straight out of the window.
