does anyone have specific dates that these unmoddable wii's were purchased. my wii is in th lu56 code so im kinda scared now
It is completely random. I have done numerous Wii's in that range and all of them but this one were fine. I initially passed it off as a bad install, but I doubted that the more testing I did. I tried the alternate points on legs, points on the backside of the board, everywhere.
No go, the thing would not boot. I am out of ideas for now, but will be playing around more this weekend.
I would not worry right now as this does not seem to be too widespread, and the person who gave this Wii to me bought two from the same place at the same time from the same shipment, and the other one was perfectly fine.
Thank god I'm not the only one! I thought I was going crazy. Purchased a brand new Wii on Saturday April 26 from Gamestop, serial LU5546. Tried modding on Sunday, no go. Did 3 D2CKeys with FlexPCBs same day before this one, and another one afterwards and all worked fine (all were older) so I knew I wasn't crazy or messing up the mod. Checked all my points with a meter and everything. Thought it was a fluke so I gave up. Bought another Wii yesterday from Toys R Us, also LU5546 and tried to mod that one. Same problem as the Gamestop Wii. I got rid of both already, so I can't take a picture. I wish there was some easy way to spot one of these without modding it first. Maybe I should get a 9 wire modchip or a Wii-Clip for testing purposes.
Oh, I forgot to mention: When the D2CKey was installed, the drive wouldn't spin up, even with originals. There were weird eject issues too. Sometimes I had to unplug it, then plug it back in to get it to eject.
Sounds like to me they have changed the drive code in the drive chip....... the code from these chips is telling it to eject and other weird such, because the code is not in the place it needs to be and is getting conflicting stuff.
They have changed it and I bet this is a test run or something to find out of this worked or not......
I am sure nintendo gets there hands on these chips that we have and reverse engineering just like we do......
So, if I were you I would say this is a revised version of D2C or D2D start and they just have not updated the drive code on the chips yet.
Like they change the programming of the drive chip, but have not changed there stamping in the factory's to say to whatever there new drive chip is.....
but since they removed whatever else was on the chip which now it just says D2C
It seems it's a revised vision and not D2D yet.......
well im getting my wii modded by avenger this weekend lets hope its not a d2c revised one cause i wont be able to return this cause i bought it in the us and im in CA
