What's the likelihood of a Wii-based WBFS Manager? One that can manage ISOs between WBFS and non-WBFS partitions on a USB drive hooked up to the Wii? (FYI, I would use FTPii to get files onto the non-WBFS partitions.)

Alternatively, how about a WBFS Manager that can manage files remotely? I imagine a client/server based model, where the server would run on the Wii (where the USB drive would remain attached), accepting connections from a remote client.

Basically, I'm looking for a solution that will let me leave my USB drive hooked up to the Wii all the time, while at the same time allowing me to add ISOs I have backed up elsewhere.

http://wiinewz.com/forums/backup-loa...-wbfs-exe.html

may be you will like to add new functions to WBFS manager based on my mod.

This application is fantastic and have to say it is by far the best wbfs manager i have seen on the net.
I really hope it can updated to fix the minor bugs it has such as the text that cant be seen in the free space boxes at the bottom.
Keep up the great work.
I wonder if there is a way that we can send games remotely from the pc to the wii using a router a bit like how dvd dumper works but faster?

Cheers

AlexDB:

Very Very nice app dude.

If you continue to develope it, and add features, I wouldnt mind donating to your paypal or something.

Second... Anyway you can add into the functionality instead of OR in ADDITION to browsing for ISO's, that we can browse for Folders that may contain a rar archive of a iso? Then, you app could use the opensource GPL licensed unrar to unrar the ISO, and then automatically add the ISO to the WBFS HD, then DELETE the ISO that unrar extracted in the temp folder.

This would eliminate me having to unrar 50 isos a night to load them to the HD.

LOL, that would be a KILLER feature bro.

Anyways, thanks for the effort.

Thanks for that, I'm looking into using your version with the additional functionality.

@bcas9472: I do intend to continue improving WBFS Manager, unless it becomes obselete as a result of using NTFS instead of WBFS, but that doesnt seem likely as Linux and Mac users would likely complain. Using WBFS was a good call by Waninkoko and others as it avoids the conflict that would result from choosing an existing filesystem like NTFS, HFS or ext.
Also, thanks for the RAR suggestion, that's an excellent idea and is now on my personal list of features for future iterations (hopefully the next iteration).

@ECubeFreak: While it's a good suggestion I'm not sure the speed would be very good as it would ultimately be over wireless G. It's likely that someone will release an app that does that soon.

Thanks for the feedback everyone By the way, can somone who's using Windows XP and having issues with text visibility post or send me a screenshot? I don't have a Windows XP machine at hand as all my machines are running Windows Vista and Windows 7 at the moment.
I've currently got a version with a progress bar going that's considerably more responsive and doesn't go black (not actually crashed) when extracting, but the progress bar doesn't convey much information at the moment. Due to some limitations with the way I'm currently working with wbfs_win I can't provide a more informative progress bar that way, so I'm currently rewriting some of the code for wbfs_win in order to improve responsiveness. Once that's done (likely over the weekend) I'll release a new version with the progress bar and very likely the archive extraction feature as well as some improvements to the usability and support for renaming files on the WBFS drive (thanks to Sorg), etc.

Any possibility of being able to transfer/copy the extracted ISO's from one USB, WBFS formatted drive to another USB, WBFS formatted drive?

I know you can build back to ISO to your PC and re-extract to the 2nd drive, but my current drive is filling up fast and I feel an upgrade drive will soon be needed. It would save loads of time (and disk space) if I could copy direct from the smaller WBFS drive to the larger one without having to re-build the ISO's and re-extract.

Cracking tool by the way - your efforts are much appreciated

this app rules! but i do second the request to implement sorg's fixes so we can edit the name of a game on the wbfs partition without actually changing the header. i have mild ocd and having a title of a game listed in all capitals and others not gets to me for some reason. keep up the excellent work. thanks.

That happened to me when loading Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It told me that the file size was just over 2Gb! It did transfer correctly, though, and showed the correct file size once on the hard drive.

I am having a problem with this. I got loader on the wii to work and i downloaded the WBFS manager 1.0.

I plugged in my HDD in the PC and loaded the WBFS manager. Then i formatted my HDD to WBFS format and transfered a game to the drive. Then when i when to the wii and plugged in my HDD the USB loader said that it did not find WBFS format so i had to format the drive thru the wii. Once i did that I ripped another game on the drive using USB loader on the wii (this one was a game DVD that i inserted into the wii).

After this i did not find the game i put on the HDD from the computer. So i took the HDD back to the computer and plugged it in. This time my drive did not even show up.

I read a post by some1 that had this problem and gave direction to make two partitions on the HDD. I followed the instructions and i got the Wii formated HDD to read on the PC but i still wasnt able to put my games on the drive thru the PC and play them on the Wii.

can ne1 please help me.

EDIT: Since this method didnt work for me. I deleted all partitions on the HDD and then i used WBFS Manager 1.0 to format the HDD into WBFS format and put a game onto it. I took the HDD and plugged it into the Wii. Now when i load the USBloader, the loader doesnt ask me to reformat the HDD but it says "No Games found on Drive" and it says i have 0.00 GB free space and all my HDD space is used.

what do i do?
