I'm new to softmodding, so please be gentle.

Yesterday i bought a brand new 3.4E Wii - i was surprised they still were in circulation as i expected a 4.0 or higher version.

Anyway, when trying to softmod my 3.4E version but bumping against problems.. basically i don't know what to do at step 7

Following steps 1-6 is no problem, boot.dol is loaded from the SD card, but instead of WAD batch installer, loadMii is launched... is this normal with a 3.4E?

Anyway, at the loadMii menu i press A.
Ok,
As i have 3.4E i skip the downgrade and continue with the batch installer.

Batch installer loads, does it's thing (loads IOS16 and cIOS249) finishes the install and shows "OK", but then does nothing.... so it does not detect and load cIOS249...just stops.. i had to hard reset my Wii to continue.

After the hard reset i cannot re-run Wad batch installer from loadMii... it loads 2 files but stops at "clearing dss"


So my question: Do i need to upgrade/run the DowngradeIOS35.dol first, or am i missing an important step from the tutorial??

I tried the DowngradeIOS35.dol to run.. it runs fine, updates and the Wii reboots (or goes back to loadMii).

After i run Wad batch installer it shows the same symptoms as before: Loads 2 files and stops at "clearing dss" and does nothing..

When i reboot the Wii it still shows version 3.4E

Hope someone can help me further.. Maybe i should try the twilight hack or something?


Additional info:
Console serial starts with LEF121xxxxxxx - should not be a problem i believe.
The SD card i use is a official (white) Sandisk for Wii 2GB - Maybe i should use another, but shouldn't be an issue also.
