The tiff exploit was only needed to allow the PSP to access the kernel in order to run a homebrew code that allowed the PSP to downgrade. We already have the ability to run homebrew on the Wii so the odds are it's not that. Also if it was a true update to the photo channel (eg printing options) it would be listed as a new version in the Wii shop channel. The odds are it is something to do with Bushings discovery and may be such a simple coding error that Nintendo very quickly patched it to stop others "stumbling upon it" (e.g. Waninoko).
Also I think Bushing is teasing us with his latest topic xyzzy about getting the keys for your particular wii and it is somehow linked to what now may be a patched exploit.

It maybe that one of the keys can tell the firmware that the disc in the drive is an original, or inject the key into the ISO???.

What about the photo channel in maintenance mode (hold + & - and then hold A on the health ad safety warning screenafter turning the wii on)??
