because even though the xbox was easy to pirate, it had powerful console technology of its time. The wii does not. This already de motivates 3rd parties to make games. Now a softmod comes a long and that completely kills 3rd party interest.
3rd party: "Why the hell would i want to develop a game for a low hardware system thats easily hacked."
can someone competent answer that hypothetical question without including the wiis controls or number of systems sold? didnt think so.
