1. mod chips: find a dealer, get the wii to them somehow, pay money, wait... all inconvenient.
2. softmod: get a friend who's done it to his to come do it to yours, or read a guide and do it yourself. no problem.
i agree 100% on the flash cart thing. It is so much more convenient to just select a game and go, rather than plug a cart in. same for wii discs, which is why I have bought lots of VC and wiiware titles but dont have many games. If the NDS had an official flash cart and an online shop, it would be awesome. they don't, and so the niche is filled elsewhere.
