I have a d2ckey (original) and had problems with SSBB initially, but a quick search on Google highlighted the problem. Because the disk is dual layer and Nintendo have set the layer break point at a non standard location, you have to manually set the layer break to 2084960. In ImgBurn this is in Tools, Settings, Write. It worked fine for me after that.
