D2PRO could probably release a DVD update to work for D2E also but have chosen not to. The simple fact is the Actel code obviously doesn’t need updating to support D2E that’s why it can be patched via DVD.
The bottem line is if the Actel chip needs updating then it must be done by JTAG or sending it back to factory. ONLY the SPI can be updated via DVD so it all depends on which chip needs an update.
