alkirah: to be honest, you should have sent it in, you're not fixing the problem you're just working around it and you'll eventually get DREs again and probably fairly soon (soon as in relative to most other wiis)
@jordymage55: clean the diode as alkirah said (99% isn't available in some states, but whatever the highest you can find will work), if that doesn't work you can try adjusting the POT of the drive or find a new DVD (borrow from a friend if possible) and burn another game to see if it works without a problem
