Perhaps I just don't see whats so scary or dangerous about firmware/system updates, I've done things like this on PCs to TVs, I've even let the Wii update itself sometimes. I have even went so far as to open up the Wii and solder in new chips.

It would be safer to edit trucha signer to work again, but I couldn't do that. I could use a downgrader and then pop in my MarioCart disc (with it's system update) and be back where I was. If it fixed my issue, then yeah it would be "cool" and easier, for me. I'd not have to re-sign my discs with a new trucha either.

Everything is useless until it's needed.
