This doesn't pave the way for custom firmware though, no more than the WAD Installer and Uninstaller did. This just mass uninstalls every firmware upgrade, and puts them back on. It's nothing new nor special.
You know the other reason I think custom firmware is stupid? There is only ONE real use for custom firmware that can't be dealt with through standard software hacks and IOS calls: Booting burned Wii DVDs. THIS is why I really don't want to see custom firmware. It's bad enough that Wanikoko's WAD Installer opened the way for virtual console piracy. Custom firmware would just raise another red flag for nintendo to take more agressive actions against Homebrew. It's people like Wanikoko that ruin the homebrew community for everyone.
