the only valid reason ive seen someone make a wireless sensor bar so far is the dudes who set up their wii in a theatre.

I've seen *plenty* of people with HC setups that need a longer cord/wireless alternative, me included.
Just because you don't need one, doesn't make them "nonsense" or "a fad"

There is a sensor bar stand that came with the Wii, just stick that on the TV and put the sensor bar on it. When you need to use another TV or monitor, just take the sensor bar with you.
